On this day in 2014, I released Combined Edition: The Awakened Books 4 Through 6. Some marketing experts question the wisdom of bundling novels because it divides readers’ attention and purchases between the standalone books and the bundle, thereby lowering the sales ranking of each. But I’d already set the precedent with the release of the first trilogy. And since then, I’d imagined the completed Awakened story as three trilogies set in ancient, modern, and futuristic worlds, respectively.

Because the primary storyline of this trilogy takes place in our modern world, it reads more like a Tom Clancy novel in the military-fiction genre (with threads of sci-fi woven into the underlying fantasy plot). This distinct feel is represented in the amazing cover artwork from Magnus Creative.

Despite competing against its standalone books, Combined Edition: The Awakened Books 4 Through 6 has been ranked as high as #13,299 on Amazon and currently holds a 4.7-star rating across 85 reviews in the US.
